We believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer. We believe in following the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection saved the world.
We don’t have all the answers, but we continue to listen to the Scriptures, and to the witness of others, watching for the ways God is active in the world around us. Our faith sets us free to be confident of God’s grace, the promise of steadfast love and mercy in Jesus.
Ascension Lutheran Church is a Reconciling In Christ congregation, and The Church of the Holy Cross (Episcopal) retains comparable values of welcome and inclusion through what was Integrity USA’s Proud Parish Partner status. We welcome all who are seeking God’s love and grace. We welcome all because God welcomes all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, relationship status, or culture; and we are committed to racial equity. We welcome all without regard to addictions, physical or mental health, imprisonment, socio-economic status, or anything else which too often divides us, because our unity is in Christ.
The Episcopal Church and Lutherans both trace their history to the Protestant Reformation of the 15th and 16th centuries. There are some slight differences, but there are far more similarities. Learn more about our faith teachings here:
